About Customer Accounts & Signing In to Our Website
1. Why Create a Customer Account?
Once you have created a Customer Account and signed in (see ‘How to Create a Customer Account’, below) you can:
View your order details online
Manage your subscriptions
Add and update your billing information
Add and update your shipping address
Update your name or password
Customers with accounts can also click the View order link in order confirmation and dispatch emails that we send to you. This opens a new tab or window where you can sign in to your Customer Account and view your order status and other details.
2. Customer Accounts and Subscriptions
If you purchase a magazine Subscription, you will require an Customer Account for you to maintain your subscription, billing information, and your shipping address. If you update you records at any time, we will always know where to dispatch your magazine to. With a customer account, you can also cancel your subscription should you wish to. We do not offer refunds on subscriptions but, if you cancel your subscription you can resubscribe in the future (note: If you cancel your subscription you will need to re-subscribe as if you were a new subscriber. You do this by visiting our online store).
3. How to Create a Customer Account
Creating a customer account is easy. Simply select the ‘Sign In’ link on the navigation bar at the top of this page, or when completing the checkout process to place an order, and assign a secure password to your account. After creating your account, you will receive a Welcome Email to the address you supplied when setting up the account. When signed in, the ‘Sign In’ link on our navigation bar will change to ‘My Account’. By clicking on the My Account link, you have full secure access to your account options listed above.
4. Creating an Account at Checkout
After you enter your email, shipping, and billing information, you can check ‘create an account’ for faster checkout, and create a password for your new account. If you are taking out a Subscription, you will simply be asked to enter a password and your account will be automatically created. Customer account passwords must be at least 10 characters long. You can also choose to save your payment information. For security reasons, your saved payment information will display only the last four digits of your card number.
5. Customer Accounts & Your Security
We take your financial security and privacy very seriously. For further information on the importance we place upon keeping your information safe, please see our Privacy Notice, which explains more about how your personal data is held securely. We use a trusted third-party provider (Stripe.com) to process all the payments and transactions made in our store, and your saved credit card information is stored securely with Stripe, not us. 6. Your Peace of Mind
Many well-known and trusted brands use Stripe to securely process transactions, including The Guardian, Unicef, The British Heart Foundation, and Oxfam. Please note that we cannot edit your saved shipping addresses or payment information, and we do not have access to your billing details or the password that you set. Only you have access to this information. It is therefore important to keep a secure record of your password. If you forget your password there is a ‘Forgot Password’ option so that you may securely reset your password. If you prefer to change your passwords regularly, you can do this yourself by signing in and selecting the ‘Reset Password’ option in your Customer Account area. After resetting your password, you will receive an automated email confirming that you have done this.
7. If you do not have a Customer Account
There is no requirement that you must have a Customer Account (except in the case of Subscriptions – see ‘Customer Accounts and Subscriptions’, above). However, if you place an order at checkout while you are not signed in, that order will not be included in your ‘Your Orders’ records if you have already set up an account but were not signed in when you made a purchase.

If you have any questions about Customer Accounts that are not answered on this page, please do not hesitate to Contact Us and we will be happy to help. Please note that we will never send you an email requesting your password or login details. These details are yours only and should remain confidential. Please do not disclose them to us when requesting Customer Account Help. If you receive an email requesting your login details, please do not respond to it as we never request details from you. If you receive such an email, we will be happy to advise you on what action you should take.
