Introducing Donna Murray

Today we are announcing the final appointment to the team behind Art North. Donna Murray will be joining us as Editorial Assistant & Outreach Coordinator. For our readers in the Highlands of Scotland, Donna will need no introduction. With an MSc in Cultural Policy and Management, and a Fine Art graduate of Gray’s School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Donna worked for the Scottish Arts Council (2002-2006), where she was External Relations Secretary working within the press, publication and design department. She also spent three months as Artist in Residence at Strathnaver Museum, working with George Gunn, producing an exhibition of poetry and visual arts relating to the Highland Clearances. Introducing Risa Horowitz

Introducing Risa Horowitz

We are pleased to announce Risa Horowitz as an addition to ART NORTH’s international team of writers covering the visual arts of Northern latitudes. Risa, who will serve as Contributing Editor (North America), is a visual artist and Associate Professor of Visual Arts in the Department of Visual Arts at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan. She has lived and worked in seven Canadian provinces as an artist, educator, writer, and gallery programmer. Her works are held in the several corporate collections, as well as by the Canada Council Art Bank, and the Saskatchewan Arts Board. In 2014, twenty paintings from her Trees of Canada series were acquired for Canada House in London. In 2018 and 2019, two of her arctic photographs were acquired, along with thirteen more Trees of Canada, for the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C..
